Thank you to all of the Canadian servicemen and women who are risking their lives in Afghanistan both in combat and support roles and helping the Afghan people rebuild infrastructure and social equality and political freedom through befriending them and allowing them to feel secure.
Christmas is over already in Afghanistan, but I hope that all of our wonderful soldiers enjoyed Christmas as much as possible.
My father served in World War Two as an instructor in the Canadian Army and prepared soldiers for combat including commando training.
He missed the Dieppe raid as he was sent back from England to Prince George B.C. to instruct recruits etc., and it always bothered him that many of his buddies were killled or wounded at Dieppe.
I know that he would be proud of all of our troops in Afghanistan if he were still living.
May God Bless all of them.
